Title: Walker on the Heart Path

I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and raised - from the age of four - by my maternal grandparents (Jewish). Much longer and semi-tragic story there, which may come out some day. Not now though.

It seems that my independent streak has been a part of me for as far back as I can remember.  I recall questioning almost everything, and at the age of eleven or twelve, having deep thoughts about the nature of life, death, and God.

Fast forward forty years - past college (a B.A. in Studio Art), odd jobs (waitressing, modeling, massaging), a masters degree (Library Science), men (oyeevay - best not go there - looking for love in too many faces/places), and career.

Now, after having just completed building a new house with my husband (handyman extraordinaire), I'm taking/making the time to get to know myself again. The comfort level has been so long in coming, but it is here now. Praise be to God.

Retirement is just around the corner (about two-three years from now). Anticipation. It keeps the thoughts focused on the future, not the present. And now is all we ever have.

Feel myself getting closer and closer to understanding that on a deep heart level.

Delighted to be part of this online community of like-minded spirits who recognize the journey for what it is.
